He hadn't been in Bellville for long. Basically just long enough to unpack most of his boxes, find a good place for a run, and learn that there was at least one other BMX rider in town. He hadn't met her yet, but from what he had heard, Tara Dean was pretty incredible at her sport. Since then, he'd been trying to dream up ways to meet her. It would have been nice to have someone around that understood him on that front. Someone that didn't think his accomplishments were just games and disappointments.
As of yet, though, Quincey hadn't figured out how he was going to meet up with the girl. To be truthful, he'd spent too much time unpacking to give the issue his full attention. But unpacking was quickly becoming dull. With no idea as to how he might even begin pursuing the girl without looking like a complete creep, Quincey figured he could break up all the unpacking with the next best thing; a good workout. He hadn't found a gym yet if the town had one, but he had found a park with a series of trails for walking, running, and biking. He hadn't been on a bike, BMX or otherwise, since his accident, so running was his best bet. The man took a few minutes to change his clothes before heading to the park. Once there, he locked the car, hid the key in a magnetic box that he stuck under one of the wheel-wells, and started out at a slow jog.
ooc - not my favorite opening post, but at least they can meet, yes?

OUTFITTara hated being cooped up in her dorm. She was endlessly studying for her literature exam. Books were really not Tara's thing, not at all. She loved science, Physics mostly, because of Mythbusters as well as the advantages to her BMX game because of that kind of knowledge. Ye olde english was enough to make her stab out her eyeballs though, so she decided she needed a break, and not just for Netflix or "study aids"--otherwise known as snacks.
Tara threw on some exercise clothes, grabbed her helmet and Ipod, and went down to get her neon blue bike. Throwing her keys and wallet and such into her backpack, she set off toward the park. They had bike lanes and it was easier to work and maneuver there than on the streets. She gripped as she smoothly careened into the bike lane, with no one ahead of her, she took off like a rocket. Teddy loved the wind through her hair, on her face, the thrill off speed.
Overtime though, she slowed down a bit. She was here for a little fun and relaxation after all, not to train.

The last thing he'd expected was for the chance to meet Tara Dean to slap him in the face. But there he was running when he heard the sound of a bike. The park had separate lanes for bikes, so it wasn't as if he had to worry about being run over. But he doubted there were a lot of people who would come to this park on a BMX bike. So when he heard the sound, he instinctively slowed his footsteps, giving the rider a couple of seconds to catch up to him. Once she did, he waved at her, hoping it might get the girl's attention. But this was a pretty small town. People probably waved at one another just to be polite. Just to be sure she knew he was looking for her attention, Quincey started running again, doing his best to keep up with her bike. It was harder than it looked, but it wasn't a challenge he felt he couldn't meet.

Tara had seen some guy waving out of her peripherals as she sped by, slowing a little when she realized he looked like he was trying to catch up with her. Maybe she was making that up, he was so handsome... Teddy forced herself to glance away from him and back on the trail, but she slowed down a bit more in case he was really trying to catch up with her. But it was then that she stopped the bike rather suddenly and looked back. Could it be....?
"Are you Quincey Boone?" She asked. He looked just like a BMX racer she'd followed a while back, but after a bad accident, no one had heard from him. Granted, she always saw him all covered up and in a helmet, but something seemed familiar about him. Maybe she was wrong.

He hadn't really thought this whole following her thing through. Any logical girl would have kept going when some strange guy tried to flag her down. People were crazy, and there was no telling what he actually wanted. But Tara either wasn't logical or knew she could take care of herself. Quince was banking on the latter as he watched her slow down. He was about to pick his pace up when her bike stopped suddenly. He very nearly fell on his face, which wasn't exactly the way he wanted to introduce himself.
Rubbing the back of his neck, Quincey offered the girl a grin. She recognized him. A lot of people recognized him, but for whatever reason, it meant something that Tara knew who he was. "Yeah, that's me," he replied, feeling somewhat awkward. He scuffed his toes against the path and cleared his throat a little. "And you're Tara Dean, right? I hear you're really good." There wasn't a lot of point beating around the bush. He might as well let her know he'd heard of her.

Tara grinned. Quincey Boone knew her name, knew what she looked like... that would have been a little creepy if she wasn't so flattered. "Everyone calls me Teddy." Well, not everyone. Bosses and her parents and other adults called her Tara. But she was Teddy to her friends. And she definitely wanted her hot idol to be her friend. "Nice to meet cha."
She shifted her weight slightly, looking at him lightly. "So, you must be new around here, because I think I'd know if a legendary racer lived in my hometown." It wasn't really a question. Tara didn't bother beating around the bush, certainly not when she knew the answers to her own questions.
"What brings you here? Not much going on Belleville." She said with a lopsided smile. You did have to make your own fun around here.

Quincey arched an eyebrow at the girl. Everyone called her Teddy? That couldn't be true. He would have heard about it at some point, what with all of the gossip he'd heard surrounding the girl. Of course, most people couldn't get beyond the fact that she was an incredible rider, she was a girl, and she was pretty. Quincey couldn't help but smile as he realized they hadn't been lying about that last part. She was very pretty. And she was apparently inviting him to be at least a little familiar with her. "Well, Teddy, as luck would have it, I am new here," he replied. In a town this small, he was sure everyone knew exactly who lived there, so there was hardly any point in pretending he'd been there longer than he had.
He should have expected her question. He hadn't been there long, but he'd already picked up on the fact that Bellville was an excessively small town. But somehow he'd forgotten to prepare an answer. He could hardly tell her he'd come here for her. Or could he? It couldn't go too badly, could it? "I'm, uh... looking for a change," he told her with a shrug. It didn't feel like enough of an answer, though, and Quincey felt the strange urge to give her a bit more than that. "I'm not exactly riding anymore, and I figured I could look for a new reason to lurk at BMX tracks," he added. It still wasn't much of an answer, but it was something.

Tara laughed and gave him a little smile, her eyebrows raised. "And that would be... following the pretty girls?" She teased lightly. Teddy realized she was sort of flirting with him, but who was kidding who here. He was hot and into things she was, and she was over 18. What was the problem with a little light hearted flirting? Right? Right.
She tucked a bit of hair behind her ear and continued, since she was usually pretty impatient. Beating around the bush wasn't one of her skills. "So what exactly is your new reason Quincey." She figured he didn't go my Mr. Boone. Not that Quincey was really a hot enough name for him.
