Background • Tara is the second youngest of five children. By the time she came around, the focus was on her older siblings and her parents were busy with their own lives. Mom collecting leaves for class and dad surrounded by papers in some office far away. From the start Tara wasn't like her older sisters, who were more girly and soft spoken, she was a tomboy. Perhaps that had to do with growing up beside her twin brother, but maybe it was just always her way.
Tara always wanted to play with trucks and couldn't wait to learn to drive. But before she could, she got into bikes, and ultimately into BMX. She travels for competitions and takes it very seriously, loving the danger of being airborne for that split second. Her parents were strict but they soon found out that if Tara wanted something, she wouldn't back down. Her father threatened to sue the owner of any given track if she ever broke a bone. She promised that would never happen.
Since that day, even if she's in a bad wreck, Tara only walks away bruised and scratched, sore and sprained but never broken.
