OUTFITAh springtime, which since she was a college student meant that she was almost done with the school year. Now, she did have a dorm, but she liked being at home, especially on the weekends. At least during the day... and then she'd hit up the parties and sleep in her dorm.
At the moment she was laid out on the couch with the TV on. Mythbusters. It was an episode about breaking out of jail on different types of rope, pretty cool all in all. She had her converse up on the coffee table, which her mother would not approve of at all. But whatever, Tara didn't really care much about that. Mom should be happy her feet weren't on the cream colored couch.
She absentmindedly began braiding some of her hair, working over her spearmint gum with her molars. The house was strangely quiet. Of course, her older sister had their own places and her twin usually stayed on campus... but what about her youngest sister? Hm. Tara figured she was probably fine too.

Truthfully, she didn't have any reason to be hanging around her parents' house. Bailey had her own house and she was more than old enough to be staying there alone. But she really liked her family, and she genuinely enjoyed coming home. Even when she expected she'd be the only one there. It was her first day off in two weeks. She was exhausted, but she couldn't sleep. So, three hours after she'd dragged herself out of bed, having completely given up on sleep after chamomile tea, a good book, an a warm bubble bath had failed to relax her, Bailey was standing at the door of her parents' house.
It seemed fairly quiet inside, so Bailey assumed she would, in fact, be alone. It made sense. Most of her siblings were now old enough that they had their own homes or lived on campus. Even her youngest sister was old enough that their parents didn't have to worry about the girl going out alone. Now that she thought about it, it made Bailey feel pretty old. With a sigh, she turned the key in the lock.
Her favorite ballet flats, which very closely resembled pointe shoes, masked the sounds of her footfalls, and she padded quietly to the living room. A smile lit up her face at the realization that she wasn't alone. While she did need to relax, Bailey had never been especially good at being alone. "Isn't this a rerun?" Bailey asked her sister, glancing at the television. She wasn't a Mythbusters fan. Not really. She only ever watched it with Teddy.
Without waiting to be invited, Bailey took a seat on the couch beside her sister, swatted the girl's hands away, and taking over the braiding. She could never resist the opportunity for a little sisterly bonding. Teddy was so different from her that the girlier opportunities didn't present themselves all that often.

Teddy looked up without blinking an eye as bailey came in, but she smiled. Her big sister worked so much these days. "Yeah its a rerun, but its such a cool episode." She insisted, letting Bailey fall onto the couch beside her. Before she was ready, her older sister had pushed her fingers away and had taken over her hair braiding. Really, it had been prompted by Kari braiding human hair to see if she could escape jail with it, a random thing to keep her restless self busy. But she knew that bailey liked being girly and teddy almost never gave her a chance. Tara let it go.
"So how's life?" Tara asked lightly as the show flipped to a commercial break. "Besides, crazy and tiring, because I know your job is hell." Teddy added, looking sideways at her sister. Last she knew Bailey was working all the time and running into her gay ex boyfriend. Which both fell under crazy and exhausting. She just wanted to know about her sister.

Sure, Bailey didn't really get the appeal of Mythbusters, but she wasn't going to point that out to her sister, so she just nodded when the girl told her it was a cool episode. It was the same principle as Teddy letting her continue with the braiding. It wasn't her thing, but it meant something to her sister, so it could be tolerated. Bailey continued to comb her fingers through her sister's hair, half watching the show.
Bailey let out a short chuckle in response to her sister's question. Life was, of course, crazy and tiring. She wasn't sure if there was much else to add to that. But for the sake of her sister's sanity, she was trying hard to think of something else. "Um... We have a cute doctor in the ER," Bailey told her. "I had dinner with him the other night." That made it sound like much more than what it was. The reality of the situation was that both Bailey and Quest had come to the crowded diner after a long shift and had decided to share a table so that neither of them would fall asleep. But he was extremely attractive, and he'd been very polite. Bailey couldn't help but wish it was more. "How about you? How's life? And school? Do you have a secret boyfriend? Something that would piss our parents off?" She smiled mischievously at her sister. Ordinarily, Bailey wasn't the sort to intentionally piss off her parents, but she could support it if her sister was enjoying it.

Tara grinned, "Success! What's his name? How'd it go? Come on, gimme some details, but not the dirty ones." No one wanted to know much about their siblings sex lives. But Tara wasn't disinterested in Bailey's life.
"School is fine, I'm doing well grade wise. I like college," Teddy nodded slowly thinking about her classes and campus. She was debating a physics major. It had real life applications. She had some good professors and some new friends. "No secret boyfriends," But even if she did, why would she tell Bailey? She was more like their parents that way.
"As for our parents, I got a second tattoo," she said lifting her shirt so Bailey could see the sun on her hip. Teddy shrugged. They'd get over it. They had gotten used to the key on her wrist; so she was feeling hopeful. It was her body after all, and she was over 18.

Apparently her desire for dinner with Quest to have really meant something showed through, and Teddy at least caught on to the fact that she was interested. Bailey couldn't help but blush at her sister's questioning. "I should probably tell you what really happened... It wasn't anything. His name is Quest. He works in the ER and we both got off work late... We were at the same diner, so we just sat together... But I think it could be something... You know... If either of us worked a little less or something." Bailey shrugged and grinned at her sister, trying to act like she didn't mind not having a normal life. She worked entirely too much for a normal relationship or anything else normal, really.
Bailey had expected that her sister would enjoy school. Tara was smart. And it was pretty difficult not to enjoy the freedom of school along with all of the new experiences college brought. She was, however, slightly disappointed by the idea that Teddy didn't have any secret boyfriends. When she was in college, she'd had a few of those. But Teddy wasn't like her in that way.
Of course, the girl always had been pretty good at pissing off their parents, and Bailey couldn't help but grin at the fact that Tara had run off and gotten another tattoo. As of yet, Bailey had been too nervous to get one herself, but she had to admit she was interested in the idea. "I like it," she told her sister, peeking at the design. Chewing her lower lip, Bailey raised her eyes to meet her sister's. "How bad did it hurt?" She could feel that she was inching toward impulsive again, which probably wasn't a good sign, but maybe she could get herself to talk about tattoos being expensive, painful, or inconvenient in some way long enough to let the idea go. Tara chuckled and shook her head. "But you are a pretty lady who ate dinner with a doctor, that always means something. Work it girl." Bailey was always the type to have boyfriends, she could get any guy she wanted. She could get this doctor, Tara was sure of that. "Wait, wait, wait...his name is Quest? What kind of name is that?" Did he have a brother named Holy Grail? She laughed, her eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
Teddy smiled as Bailey inspected her new ink, getting that look when she was thinking about more than just what was in front of her. "Not too bad no." But of course, Ted had a good tolerance of pain, Bailey was far more delicate. "Why? You worried about me?" She teased lightly.

Bailey stifled a laugh and cast a faux glare at her sister. Teddy was right, though. What kind of a name was Quest? Certainly not one Bailey had ever heard. "I didn't name him, alright. But I swear, he's hot enough to make up for it..." That much was true. Actually, she figured the guy could have been named Shoestring or something equally as awkward and his appearance would still have made up for the name. "But it's probably not going to amount to anything... We both work too much, you know..." she shrugged, trying to pretend she wasn't disappointed by the realization. She didn't like feeling disappointed, and she certainly didn't want to confront that sort of emotion until there was actually something for her to be reasonably disappointed about.
The more she looked at her sister's tattoo, the more she thought that maybe a tattoo was exactly the sort of distraction she needed. And Teddy said it hadn't been too painful. Of course Teddy's 'not too bad' and Bailey's 'not too bad' were bound to be very different things. Bailey had nearly fainted when she'd had her belly button pierced. But she was very quickly starting to think it might be worth the pain. "Oh, you know... I just... was thinking I might like a tattoo," Bailey murmured, her words running together. Hopefully Tara wouldn't ask her to repeat it. If she had to announce her intentions too many times, Bailey might actually talk herself out of getting a tattoo, and she was starting to think she really liked the idea. [/size]

"Yeah but you work the same place! have some quickies in his office. Its a start." Tara said waving her hand. A hot doctor? Its exactly what Bailey deserved, the kind of husband she'd want. She hadn't given up hope yet, that was Bailey's problem-she gave up to easily. Probably because most things easily fell into place for Bailey. Where as Tara knew about work and training and effort--especially when it came to romance. She wasn't pretty and feminine like her big sister.
"What?" Teddy had heard her just fine. Bailey? A tattoo? Maybe they were related after all. "You should totally get one. A cute little one." Tara knew her sister wasn't gonna get something hard core or huge. Something little and pretty was just bailey's thing. That wasn't Tara's but itd still be cool to see the perfect daughter do something new and something that would annoy their parents.
